My heart breaks for her. It’s not like other stories where they went back in time or are reincarnated. She is just a little girl. A little girl who learns too early that she is unloved.

The sad part is that he is to young. He wants to run around with friends, do things at his own pace etc. Families are pushing them together to build rapport for the future as a match. But that does not mean he would be that interested at that age. Even less so when TOLD to get interested or do whatever she wants. That adoration for FL in the book came naturally, so he put in an effort due to genuine interest. Can not really blame him for it, but it is also 100% relatable to see how she guards herself and run her own race. Learning to shut down rather than open up.

Sorry Nasar, she just decided you did not really want to be there so now she is guarding her heart from you.

I feel bad for Nasar cos it's not like he has a choice he's a child too but she should probably focus on her own issues with her death looming over her and all 💀
